Kai's is a cozy 50 seat storefront oasis just a few steps away from Na's Thai restaurant. Both are across the street from the old Chanhassen Dinner Theater. We first noticed it last week when we were on our way in for dinner at Na's Thai - which by the way is still excellent. Our expectations were not that high when we walked in a few days later for a late Thursday lunch after a ramble around the Minnesota Arboretum. We started thinking maybe it was going to be ok when we saw just how filled up they were. After a short queue we got seated by the friendly host. She turned out to be our waitress and was super attentive - watching over us for whatever we needed. There is a small sushi bar in the rear. The menu has variety - took a while to decide finally on the $10 Bento box lunch specials. Roxanne for the Sashimi and me for the Salmon. Wow! Miso soup Goyza dumpling pot stickers, 6 pieces of California roll and good sized portions of salmon(with fantastic grilled onions) and sashimi (with kale and white radish). It was all perfect. Excellent food. Very friendly staff. Great service. Very reasonable prices. Money and time well spent. We will be back!

State Beer Song

"...From the Land of Sky Blue Waters. From the land of pines' lofty balsams, Comes the beer refreshing, Hamm's the beer refreshing. Brewed where nature works her wonders, Aged for many moons, gently mellowed, Hamm's the beer refreshing, Hamm's the beer refreshing. From across the rippling water, Through the whisp'ring pines and birches, Comes the beer refreshing, Hamm's the beer refreshing. Comes a call to cool enchantment, Comes a call to cool refreshment, Hamm's the beer refreshing, Hamm's the beer refreshing. Hints of lakes and sunset breezes, Dance and sparkle in each glassful, Hamm's the beer refreshing, Hamm's the beer refreshing..." Dylan probably wished he'd written this while flying high on Hamms.
