Lunch Buffet Dinner M-Su
Cozy Colorful Tibetan Cafe. We've been passing this place for years. Today we ventured out to the American Crafts Show at Rivercentre and made sure to stop here afterwards for a late lunch. Our visit didn't get off to a good start when our "maitre d'", after offering us a choice of where to sit in the almost empty place, politely insisted that we not sit at a regular size corner table, but at a 2 person table. We sat where he wanted us to sit. We were afraid we were on our way to a bad service wreck, but fortunately things turned for the better when our server arrived and showed much more friendliness and polish. At 2pm, the lunch buffet looked tired and unappetizing, so we stuck with the menu. We started with a Veggie Momo, which was excellent with a mix of spices and cilantro sauce. Danny had the Jogi-tarkari (curry made with a very large assortment of vegetables). He asked for medium-hot which turned out to be very mild - should have asked for hot - waiter must have been afraid Danny, being Minnesotan, wouldn't handle hot very well. Roxanne went with the Bhanta - Eggplant cooked with potato, tomato, & herbs. She asked for mild and got it. Both dishes were excellent and generous.
